By 1965 - following the huge influx of British pop-music from late 1963 - Australia was not as heavily influenced by American music as it had been in the 1950s and early 1960s.
Therefore many of the songs that appeared on the original American charts either did not make it to Australia or, if they did, were not successful in moving into the Top Forty.
Below is the modified playlist from one of the most popular and influential stations in the USA - WABC, New York - for the week ending 30th. March 1965.
I have removed from the list those American records which were either not sold here or did not reach the Top Forty lists.
